Manilva Pueblo is the administrative and cultural heart of the municipality, positioned above the coastline rather than directly on it. Its scale, white façades and parish church give it a more recognisably Andalusian village character than the coastal developments below.

The surrounding vineyards are not decorative background: the Moscatel grape remains part of local identity, gastronomy and a small but visible wine and enotourism sector. This connection to agriculture and the annual vendimia traditions distinguishes the village from purpose-built coastal resorts.

For permanent residents, the presence of a primary school, secondary school, nursery, health centre, pharmacies and municipal services makes the village more practical than its hilltop setting might suggest. For larger supermarket shopping, marina leisure and the beach, residents generally travel down towards Sabinillas and La Duquesa.
